Lisa Mason
A bit of family history, my husband Joe and I met in London in 1997 and soon after started our own Line Dancing Club. This is still based in London and has been running now for 10 years.

My line dancers have also taken their line dance exams, the first group having completed now the first five on the examinations ladder, Pre-Bronze, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Blue Riband. More exams are scheduled for next year.

In addition to the line dancing I have a dance school in Haverhill, Suffolk - ‘Lisa Mason School of Dance’  At the school I teach Ballet, Tap, Modern & Acro Gymnastics classes for children & adults .

B.A.T.D History
My dance association is called the British Association of Teachers of Dancing, B.A.T.D for short, of which I am an Associate. They have been in existence since 1892. The Association may have started a little before then but the first record is from November 1892. The B.A.T.D. are represented on the British Dance Council, The Central Council of Physical Recreation, The Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing and the Stage Dance Council International. The British Association is represented in the United Kingdom, Malta, Canada, America, Australia, South Africa, Spain, France, Italy, Holland, Germany, Belarus, Latvia, Korea and many other countries.
In 1892 the British Association Of Teachers of Dancing was founded and became the first Dancing Association to encourage the professionals of the day to organise themselves into a society to improve and develop the art of dancing, in many forms. The Association may have started a little before 1892, but November the 30th 1892, is the first recorded date that can be established beyond doubt.
I started dancing at the age of 4 years, with the Rosina Pulley School of Stage Dancing based in Leytonstone, London. I passed many exams, too many to list, and performed in many shows. Once I reached the appropriate age I started to assist my teacher with teaching at her school, preparing the children for exams, shows and pantomimes, taking them for auditions and dance seminars etc. I
passed my teaching exams in 1999 and have been teaching now in total for 15 years. My dance expertise is in Ballet, Tap, Modern/Jazz, Acrobatics/Gymnastics, and Country and Western Line Dancing. In 2001 I took my Masters in Country and Western Line Dancing.
